Storm and Stress
Touch and Go Records

Unlike Sturm und Drang, the German literary movement for which they are named, Storm and Stress eschews forms and patterns. Ian Williams and Eric Topolsky of Don Caballero join drummer-percussionist Kevin Shea to create the oddly decompressed, antigravitational world of Storm and Stress. The band is characterized by bursts of free expression that walk a tightrope between avant-jazz freedom and a desperate but sincere desire to "really be a rock band."

Shudder To Think ; HFS'tival, RFK Stadium, Washington DC 06-03-1995

Shudder To Think in a stadium??!?!
Yes. This is a crispy soundboard recording of a S2T set from the Washington DC alternative radio station 99.1's annual festival. This is the band touring the Pony Express Record, their first release on Epic. The A&R guys were pimping this one out hard but it went over most people's heads and was far ahead of it's time sound wise. They reunited last year and have played a handful of dates.

from wiki:
Shudder to Think is an American Post-Hardcore/Alternative rock group. Formed in 1986, they released three albums on the Washington, D.C. Dischord Records label and have been labeled a punk band, though they drew upon a wide range of stylistic influences, including pop. Their music is characterized by a complex mix of these stylistic influences, as well as by technical precision and melodic virtuosity. Singer Craig Wedren's characteristic operatic singing style set the band apart from other post-punk D.C.-area bands.

from me:
I would like to add that Nathan's guitar work is superb

June Of 44 ; the Black Cat, Washington, DC 07-10-1997

Live set from another great T&G artist.
from wikipedia:
June of 44 was an American rock band which was formed in 1994 from ex-members of Rodan, Lungfish, Codeine, Rex, The Crownhate Ruin and Hoover. Clearly influenced by Slint, the band's music is often described as 'math rock'. The band's name refers to June Miller, wife of author Henry Miller, and the year author Anaïs Nin began writing about June in her diaries.

The band toured extensively and reached as far as Australia. Often referred to as the punk rock pirates of the math rock world, June of 44 were a collective from 1994-2000. All the members were living in different cities at the time. Often cited for their artistic hand crafted record packaging, June of 44 had six releases in as many years before members went on to form HiM, Mice Parade, The Sonora Pine, Shipping News and Rachel's. This seminal band created music that ranged from experimental jazz to ambient dub to angular post punk.

Biography by John Vallier

All Scars are an all-star sextet of post-punk musicians and noisemakers. Some of this band's scarred stars come from such Dischord bands as Fugazi, Beefeater, and Fidelity Jones. Improvised, extemporaneous, impulsive, and unpremeditated sonic outbursts are favored by the All Scars' Jerry Busher, Dug Birdzell, Chuck Bettis, Brendan Canty, James Canty, Amy Farina, and Evan Rapport. With free-spirited convictions in mind, the band journeys into realms of uncharted sound with what appears to be a strong sense of humor. All Scars' explorations can be found on their Early Ambient and Introduction To Humanity albums.
