Shudder To Think in a stadium??!?!
Yes. This is a crispy soundboard recording of a S2T set from the Washington DC alternative radio station 99.1's annual festival. This is the band touring the Pony Express Record, their first release on Epic. The A&R guys were pimping this one out hard but it went over most people's heads and was far ahead of it's time sound wise. They reunited last year and have played a handful of dates.
from wiki:
Shudder to Think is an American Post-Hardcore/Alternative rock group. Formed in 1986, they released three albums on the Washington, D.C. Dischord Records label and have been labeled a punk band, though they drew upon a wide range of stylistic influences, including pop. Their music is characterized by a complex mix of these stylistic influences, as well as by technical precision and melodic virtuosity. Singer Craig Wedren's characteristic operatic singing style set the band apart from other post-punk D.C.-area bands.
from me:
I would like to add that Nathan's guitar work is superb

i was actually googling for the 'lost' album that Shudder To Think was poised to deliver after Pony Express Record...there were plenty of very dark, angular, and weird songs they'd play live around that time. But this live stuff is a very exciting find! Thank you Thank you!
